We started this list to keep track of all of the toys Miso knows the names of and we’re pretty sure he’s better at remembering them than we are!
"Genius dog"
Miso has been able to recognize toy names since he was a puppy. It started out as a lazy way for us humans to play with him while doing other things like washing dishes or watching TV but has now turned into a fun game to play and learn together.
He usually learns the names of new toys within a couple of days playing with it. For most toys, he’ll remember them even if stored away for a while. The more we play with a toy, the easier it is for him to remember… because everyone learns best when they’re having fun!
Miso is currently participating in a study on dogs who can recognize many toy names, conducted by the Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary.
He loves taking part because it means eating lots of treats!
